Office Salvatore “Dude” Rivieri has been put on paid administrative leave after video surfaced on YouTube of him acting like a jackass. In the video he puts a boy in a headlock, pushes him to the ground, questions his upbringing, threatens to “smack” him and repeatedly accuses the youngster of showing disrespect because the youth refers to the officer as “man” and “dude.”
A great quote from Officer Dude :
“Obviously, your parents don’t put a foot in your butt quite enough, because you don’t understand the meaning of respect. First of all, you better learn how to speak. I’m not ‘man.’ I’m not ‘dude,’ I am Officer Rivieri. The sooner you learn that, the longer you are going to live in this world. Because you go around doing this kind of stuff and somebody is going to kill you.”
I haven’t heard reports on the news lately of people losing their life for using the word “dude”. Officer Salvatore Rivieri is obviously pissed off that the Baltimore Police Department has his fat ass shoved in that small car. I’d be looking to get tough with a 14 year old if I were him too.

Interestingly, it was reported that the kid’s mom tried to file a complaint, but was told the supervisor who does that was on vacation and would call her when he got back, but never did. Now, that is being investigated.

This is fairly clearly assault. Legally, unwanted touching constitutes assault. Now, if Officer Rivieri pushed the boy down as part of his job (restraining him, arresting him, searching him, defending himself, etc.), this is legal. What occurs on the tape is clearly something else.
There are fairly specific laws concerning this sort of interaction to try and alleviate any type of “gray areas”.
While the youth probably is out of line, it is not the officer’s role to play daddy to him. Those “precious cherubs” looked like scared children to me.

Ooooooooohhhhhhhh! Looks like junior is going to get a pay day. As a justice major, and as a teen that had to endure not as harsh mal treatment by the man. I can only say that this officer is unfitt as a man. That is not his place to put his hands on a little kid. Police should be firm, but not abusive. So while some thug is out violating someone, this punk ass popo is harassing junior skateboarding on the avenue? Way to get tough on crime, and way to represent “public safety.” Guns dont kill people……….. Mustaches do!

Officer fatty needs to be suspended with NO PAY while being investigated. If I had been there, I would have kicked him in the balls, that is if I could find them! Baltimore is often the city with the highest murder rate. Officer Salvatore is just trying to prevent murder because we all know skateboarding leads to serious crime.
If it was some young black kids loitering he would have just drove away in his electric car to save his own life(in his mind). Ironic how it’s the little white guys that get profiled in this video. No wonder the Colts left town. Baltimore sucks. Proof provided below

When we actually get to watch amazing abuses of this kind we harbour the hope that unitedstatians understand that this is a little glimpse of what your country does in and to the rest of the world, to other people. It is a valid extrapolation. When you see that your authorities have no respect whatsoever for human rights of their own citizens, it comes as no surprise that the actual conduct of your military, your CIA spies, your Blackwaters, your diplomatic corp is much much worse. Thus, you should not be surprised to be dispissed as dangerous and undesirable people all over the world. I suggest to all tourists from the USA going abroad to keep pretending you are canadians.

The rage this guy exhibited was sooo out of line with what that kid was doing. I agree that he needs major anger management training and probably some serious therapy, to boot. And, most importantly a job that does not involve having any contact with the public or authority over others, since he clearly cannot make appropriate use of either one.

This is a death threat:

If you do stuff like this on your beat, then you’re not a real cop. You’re a thug and should loose your badge too. Sure the kid rolled his eyes at Rivieri. So what? This is not a reason to threaten a kid’s life.
That badge you wear puts a -HUGE- onus of responsability on you. You’d better weigh it carefully each time you put it on.

If you google this prick cops name, you will find local businesses want his fat ass reenstated. And yes, I think he’s pissed off about driving around in that small car, I think his problem is he didn’t get police issued red afro, a huge red bulbous nose, some clown make up and a squeezie clown horn to add to the look. Appearantly another video has surfaced where this cop flipped out on a guy for playing with an RC car in a public park which shows him going off in a rage similar to the one he went into with the skater. I hope he’s finally fired. I’m completely opposed to skaters who think they have a right to skate where ever they please with no regard for city ordinances or property rights, but there’s no need to shove frail non violent kids around screaming in there faces for a minor city ordinance violation. The infamous Hot Springs Arkansas skater’s “police brutality” video for example is one I personally believe the cop was in the right since the skaters where combatant, disrespectful, assaulting pedestrians, and outright fleeing the officer, but this guy is a whole different bag of chips. Clearly a person with too many anger issues to be dealing with the public. He’d make a great pro wrestler though, as long as his competition consists of skinny teenaged wimps.

honestly, any person who thinks these kids deserved this is fucked up. i skate and i’ve gotten caught in instances like this, but an officer has no right to physically throw you to the ground for calling you dude. he should have sucked it up and gone back to the little kid rule, sticks and stones are gonna break my bones and names… so on. dont throw a kid thats half ur size to the ground for calling you dude or man. he’s a pussy and doesn’t realize that he isn’t a man. if he’s not fired yet, he definitely sould be.

This DUDE is a fag. This fat cop is more worried about kids riding a peice off would down the street, when probably at that time he could be out stopping a robbery or something. He should of just said stop skating and go home. But NOOOOOOO!!! He had to push the kid down, take his deck, SCREAM AT HIM, and then get himself into this whole mess around the that now everyone knows about. I don’t get why the police force hired him. THESE are the kind of people that make me mad. He has anger problems and abuse problems. I PRAY that he doesn’t have any kids right now. And also, why do so many people have to hate on skateboarders?!? When some kid is playing in the neighbors yard you don’t see the neighbor come out and start pounding the kid! He takes his job way too seroiusly and I hope he learned his lesson…
