Tiffany Shepherd, a biology teacher at Port St. Lucie High School, learned last week that she will not be asked to return when school starts next year, nor will she finish this school year.
Shepherd doesn’t think it’s her teaching skills that the St. Lucie County School District found objectionable but, rather, her after-school job as a bikini broad aboard Smokin’ Em Charters fishing tours.
“I can make $600 in two days (fishing),” she said. “That’s a week’s pay for me in two days.”
The 30 year old divorced mother of 3 said she does not go topless on the fishing boat and said she doesn’t believe the job is inappropriate or at odds with her role as a teacher to high school students.
But district officials say Shepherd was doing something wrong, it just didn’t have anything to do with her after-school activities. They say Shepherd missed more than 30 days of school this year and received two written reprimands for the absences.
I’d like to be on that fishing boat…..maybe catch me some snapper.

yeah she might of had a little side job for posing for a magizane or somthing, but you know what! she was the best fuckin teacher i have ever had. we had so much fun it that class. i really hate sience/biology but she it the type of person who really made that kind of stuff really intresting. i learned so much and i had the most fun in that class, i would be excited to go into that class EVERYDAY. i had so much fun. she was the best. too bad you guys couldent see it. i would do any thing to have her back at port saint lucie high school. i miss you ms. shepherd… we all miss you here at port saint lucie. come back. we love you. forever.

well my opinion is if your a mother of 3 children and you teach rising teenagers you are suppose to be setting an example….. I mean No she wasnt posin nude or anything but you need to teach these teenagers the value of money you should make money on your brains and education not because you have a hot body and Plus you have 3 kids is that what you want to teach them

Really, I am a father of 3, and a school teacher. You must not know what we get paid. I work as a bouncer on the weekends this is something that is not the most upstanding job in the world. It does, however pay more that teaching does. What we do with out free time is our business. If your employer tried to control what you did with your free time, I bet you would tell them where to go.

I am really tired of teachers being held to such a ridiculous standard. This is a woman who is the mother of 3 children. Her responsibility to put food on the table and pay her bills is what she had to take care of. If she is allowed to work outside of the school, she should be allowed to do whatever she wants so long as it is not illegal. I know many a teacher that loves their work, but has to work a 2nd job because we as a society don’t value teachers enough to pay them properly. I don’t care if she was on the cover of Playboy magazine, what she did was legal, and not against any code of conduct that I know of.

You all are missing the point. Besides the fact that she has big breasts, besides the fact that she must provide for her children. The reason her contract was disconntinued was because of her multiple unexused absentses. She could have been the best teacher, the hottest, and the most fun, but I truly believe she deserved to be let go. And with frequent conversations with the principal, I know him to care less about what she did outside of school.

I think the school had the best interest of the students in mind when they fired her. She not only has a job to teach each student Biology, she also acts as a role model. I would be ashamed to post such pictures that children can view especially my own children.

I think that anyone has the right to have a second job. If hers happened to be in a bikini, I don’t see the scandal. This is Florida after all, what are the chances that the majority of the students are in bathing suits as well on weekends? If it can be revealed that she was a poor teacher, than she deserved to be fired. Still this story kind of smells funny. I think perhaps the real question is, why is she a Texas Lornhorns fan?

Frankly, no one should be concerned with a teacher’s personal life, and, so what if Devin can’t spell too good, get over it. The fact is no smart-ass comment justifies any body’s opinion on the matter. I’m pretty sure she didn’t go around flaunting her after school job, and if my teacher did it and looked awesome doing it, more power to her, especially after having 3 kids. Her students obviously like her and nothing you can say or do could possibly change that. Regardless of what parents think, you know what? Your teenage daughter wears a bikini, too.
